I'm a recruiter working with a well established, full service commercial, web-to-print company (about 150 employees and growing) that is looking for an experienced Prepress Manager.
This position will be responsible for overseeing the activities, resources, and employees engaged in electronic prepress, digital file transmission, image assembly, proofing, platemaking, and other prepress activities in preparation for offset printing.
Ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager and have strong understanding of software and tools as it relates to improving the workflow for web-to-print solutions.
Currently using Heidelberg Prinect. Also, Metrix software for gang run.
Department size: 20 employees (2 shifts)
High volume: 1000 files / day
Requirements
- AA/BA, Graphic Design or equivalent
- 5+ years experience managing prepress employees in the use of prepress software for offset printing with at least one year experience managing in an online/web-to-print environment
- Experience supervising team of 10-20 employees in printing industry
- Experience evaluating and implementing processes, workflows, and software to automate common prepress processes such as preflighting and imposition
- Proficient use in applications: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat, QuarkXpress
- Extensive knowledge of digital prep, color management, and gang run printing
- Programming/scripting knowledge preferred: JavaScript, XML, HTML
Location: Compton CA
Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 + employee benefits.
