AVANTRA 36/44 OLP Error (GI ATB V03 LUTH)

We are experiencing an error on our film processor.
(GI ATB V03 LUTH)

Imagesetter = AVANTRA 44
Processor = AVANTRA 36/44 OLP

In the past we were able to turn on the processor and let it warm up, usually all day until the circuit board warmed up and it would clear itself. Now that doesn't work anymore. so I tried heating up the board with a hairdryer and that didn't work either.

I did some research online and came across the attached post. That post says we have a bad capacitor C613 on the main PCB.

I was just wondering anyone has had experience with this or could give further advice or help.

is it possible to produce a 5 color with Pantone 2736 touchplate and proof accurately? I am able to produce a good match on the 100% of the Pantone color, the problem is in the tones such as 75% down the ramp. The hue in this areas go on the magenta side.

NexPress Red Fuser Roller "Drying Out"

Anyone else having problems with the 3000 Fuser Roller (Red) developing dry areas on the surface of the roller? The printed piece has a gloss variation which looks almost like there is a lack of fuser fluid. Ever since I've been using these new fusers I've had this problem. It usually starts to happen around 150,000 to 200,000 pages which is half the potential page life. So far the only solution is to put in a brand new fuser which is not very cost effective. Anyone have a better solution?

Looking to purchase a truckload of paper

I'm looking to purchase a truckload of 11x17 20# bond paper. I've explored the Aliababa website but am a bit fearful of buying overseas. Does anyone have a recommendation of how to order paper direct since I'll be purchasing a large amount? I've contacted a few of my local paper distributors but I can't get them down to a decent enough price point based on the volume. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

FujiFilm XMF 5.0.1 - Alias Black to a spot colour??

Hi All,

Is there a way in XMF 5.0.1 to alias Black to a spot (PMS) colour?

I've been supplied a mono document that is required to print in a Spot colour. Going into the 'INKS' section for the job settings after adding the spot colour to the listing there is no (obvious) way to Map / Alias the Black separation to the spot colour. Yes, I can remap the colour through the proofing software to get the right proof result AND just image the black separation for the printer to use, but this will result in imaging a plate labelled as 'Black'. I'd prefer to remap in the software then image the plate with the correct separation label.

Heidelberg Prosetter 74 CTP Voltage error

I have a presetter 74 giving the 36 Volt error measuring 0 v with the Diag tool.

The electronics LMB80 36 v fails only

With the user interfase same erro votage error.

The carriage and mirror works fine.

The Power supply is tested and has the 36v. is OK

But still some diag routine is reporting te error somewhere.

Do you know where?

Someone can help ?

can it be bypassed to output a plate anyway ?
The hardware is working the 36 volt is there but some signal missing is reporting this error puttin the engine offline.

What the role does processor plays on prepress workflow?

Hi All

I am a newly member of this forum and would like to get some information from here (U.S. region) as the prepress environment seems different to Asia region.
Here I rarely see guys discuss topics of processor but only focus on CTP machine and plates.

As titles, willing to collect information about processor influences in your place for the entire prepress workflow.
@ What are the mostly troubles you occurred during plate developing which come from processor itself?
@ How many plates / square meters after, you need to replace new developer?
@ How many plates been wasted due to processor issue in certain production? (Ex. Every 500 pcs plates production)
@ CTP / Plate / Chemical / processor…., which factors annoying you mostlyyou’re your production?

ptr4000 focus motor coupling source

Just want to know if its possible to source out just the coupling itself? Or anyone might have a used working one for sale. Ours has a hairline crack and we cant tighten it any further as it might break. Also this might be causing intermittent lines on our plates so we need a replacement. Im open to any leads.

RPM: 185

Versioning, Apogee8

Hi
I'm new to features in apogee, but needs to figure out how "the automatic file selection" in the versioning tab works.
My specific problem is to figure how to place files caled: p001_DE.pdf and p001_NL.pdf in right version.

Sofar I can auto place the "DE" file, but it fills out both the DE and NL version

This is the rule I use: p<RLPAGE>_DE* I tried to use p<RLPAGE>_NL too but it didnt help.
I guess I'm on the right track and needs to know how to separate the two rules...

Visible trapping on digital proof PDF files

I'm looking for a way to provide a proof in PDF format with visible trapping.

We work in InDesign CS6 and I recently learned that by sending a file from InDesign to out Xerox C75 with the "In-RIP Separations" output setting we're able to accurately simulate trapping and discover trapping issues with a digital proof that would otherwise occasionally make it onto our plates. Now I'd like to figure out a way to apply trapping to our PDF proofs.

I tried outputting to postscript with In-RIP Separations and our trapping preset, and then creating a PDF from that postscript file in Distiller. This actually worked to a degree - there's visible trapping in some places. However it also created a lot of terrible artifacts around some of the type and didn't trap some places where it should have. (See attached screenshot - there's visible trapping around the text and the edge of the blue graphic element, but the text has been ruined)

Is anyone familiar with a process to output a PDF with trapping? Ideally we'd like to be able to do this right from InDesign but if there's a solution that would take a PDF exported from InDesign and apply trapping from there, that'd be fine too.
